Meredith Wilde is a dance artist based in New York City, NY. She received her BFA in Modern Dance from University of Utah and was able to perform in works by various Salt Lake City-based artists and San Francisco-based artist Katie Faulkner. While in Utah, she was a guest dancer with the Wasatch Contemporary Dance Company for their spring 2017 season. In addition to ballet and contemporary training, Wilde has also trained in Bharatanatyam technique and performed with Chitrakaavya Dance alongside the Minneapolis-based Ragamala Dance Company at Kingsbury Hall in Salt Lake City, UT. Before relocating to Portland, Wilde was awarded a full tuition scholarship to attend “Excavate,” a week-long intensive workshop with the Joe Goode Performance Group in San Francisco, CA, which trained in modern dance technique, partnering, performance, choreography, improvisation, and vocal training. While in Portland, Wilde was a company member for both the Polaris Dance Theatre and the Shaun Keylock Company; during this time she performed in works by notable artists such as Jordan MacIntosh-Hougham, Shaun Keylock, Beth Whelan, and Andrew Schneider. In addition to performance, Wilde’s choreographic work has been presented at Snow College, Pacific University, The Fertile Ground Festival of New Work, MADCO2, Brine, and OuterSpace. She co-produced “River Daze” with Lucy Dillon, a site-specific performance in Portland’s Tom McCall Waterfront Park. She also produced “Anotherwom(e)n” in a self-produced split-bill show “Two of a Kind.” She was also the recipient of the “Audience Choice” award at MADCO2’s “Dare to Dance” Showcase, and is a recipient of the “Barney Creative Prize,” a commissioning award for White Bird in Portland, OR.
